Dear Mrs. Barat and Family
I too worked with Gene at D&B and have nothing but fond memories and respect for him.
He always had time to respond to a question and during a crisis was the calming force to get me through it . I especially enjoyed when he talked about his time during the war when he had to land on aircraft carriers . He will be greatly missed by many at this firm

Dear Mrs. Barat, Chuck & Family,
Although I am 59, for me he is still Mr. Barat. He always greeted me with a genuine robust smile and took time to chat in our teenage lingo like he was one of "the boys".
Later, when applying to UVA Engineering School I listed Mr. Barat as my personal reference... which surely got me in.
I was very fortunate and glad to see him once again in 2009 as my wife Kathy and I dropped in totally unannounced. The Barat's welcomed us like royalty after which Mr. Barat & I became regular "email pals".
I will always cherish the moments he shared with me. May God bless all of you in this time of sorrow.

My name is Joe Baader. Gene and I worked together for many years at D&B Engineers and he was great to work with. Aside from excellant engineering skills , he was a quality person and a friend. I was planning to visit him later this month , after my brother's wedding in Naples. Please be comforted in knowing that we hold fond memories of him. Regards

Lois Steingisser
My name is Lois. I worked a short time with Gene at Dvirka & Bartilucci. I will always remember him as such a pleasant and congenial man with a great sense of humor.
We use to have early morning talks about work, and life in general. I found him to be a wonderful mentor, as this was my first office job I had ever had, and needed help with "navigating the waters" safety.
We lost touch after he moved down to Florida, but he was…and always will be in my thoughts and prayers.
With much Love, Lois Guarino Steingisser (Edith Steingisser's daughter-in-law)
