He was born on July 25, 1932 in Lubbock, Texas to the late William Paul and Ella Etta Faulkner. He attended the Pea-cock Military Academy, graduated from Lubbock High School, attended Texas Tech, and New Mexico Military Institute. Following his education he joined the Marines and served his country proudly. After his military career he joined the Lubbock Police Department, and later was the chief of police in Tulia. After his career as a police officer he joined the staff of Horkey Oil Company where he was the vice president.

He enjoyed and lived a full life. His military experience gave him a great appreciation for routines; he planned out daily routines and followed them. He also enjoyed the game of golf and had a passion for sports in general.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gene Faulkner; his sister Maejean; and a grandson, Justin.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 4 sons, Steve Stephens his wife Cindy, Rod Faulkner, Stephen Faulkner his wife Kathryn, and John Faulkner his wife Joni; grandchildren, Chelsey Groves husband Gregg, Seth Stephens his wife Julie, Dylan, Colton, and Trever Faulkner; 2 great grandchildren; and one brother Paul Faulkner.

The family suggest memorial donations be made to the 3513 10th Street Lubbock, TX 79415, a cause that was dear to his wife.
