Eugene Samuel "Sam" Galletta, 52, of Register, GA. Passed away peacefully at Ogeechee Area Hospice on Monday, March 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Henrietta Samuel Galletta. Sam was born and raised in Savannah and was a graduate of Johnson High School. He was Battalion Chief with the Southside Fire Department. He was a member of the Georgia State Fire Fighters Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, the Smoke Divers #88 Club, a member of the Forest City Gun Club, where he was an Expert Marksman. Eugene Samuel "Sam" Galletta, 52, of Register, GA. Passed away peacefully at Ogeechee Area Hospice on Monday, March 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Henrietta Samuel Galletta.
Sam was born and raised in Savannah and was a graduate of Johnson High School.
He was Battalion Chief with the Southside Fire Department.
He was a member of the Georgia State Fire Fighters Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, the Smoke Divers #88 Club, a member of the Forest City Gun Club, where he was an Expert Marksman.
He was a member of the Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kim Boyd Galletta, Register, Ga; son, Thomas Samuel Galletta, Register, Daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Galletta, Register, brother, Leo Thomas Galletta, Jr., New York; 2 sisters, Lucy G. May of Savannah, Ga; and Louise Galletta, Lilburn, Ga.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Mar 7, 2013, at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Friday, in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Bill Ellar, Chaplain at Ogeechee Hospital, officiating.
Interment: Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
