Dear Jeri and Girls,
I was honored to have known Gene. The world has lost a very great man. The lovely obituary says it all. I can't think of another thing to say other than my heart is with all of you.

Dear Jeri,
It has been many years since we worked together at the (then Nova University). I remember the two of you at many University events, class openings and summer institutes--your kind and thoughtful manner to all was a shining example of what a partnership should be. Gene was an outstanding person and so are you. My thoughts are with you--G-d bless and keep you now and always.
With sympathy,
Toni (Heppler) McLeod

What I'll always remember about my unforgettable Uncle Gene:
*The Jewish definition of a Hail Mary (that 17-0 season in the OB was the BEST!)
*To be KIND! The only unkind words I ever heard him utter were aimed at me (I think he was kidding?) Oh, how I will miss those 45 years of abuse!
*The difference between a Chevy and a Toyota (and I still don't care cuz he ALWAYS took care of me in the car dept!)
*That even when we were bad and he had to bail us out of jail, he STILL took us on vacation! Why? Because he was GENE!
He will never, ever be forgotten...how blessed we all were to have been loved by such a great man!

Dear Jeri, Cindi, Dana, Lesli and families,
We were blessed to be a "member of the tribe" for so many years. Even though we did not visit often, we always kept in touch. Gene's death has touched us deeply and we will miss him. He will live in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Zecher Tzdekah Livraha - may his memory and the beauty of his life forever be a blessing.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sorosky family. I remember "Uncle Gene" as a TALL, happy-go-lucky man across the lake from where we lived. He is with some amazing people in Heaven! But, my Dad won't root for the Canes...they will enjoy Dolphin games! Fondly, Iris, Leslie, and Kim

Dearest Friends,Having known Gene & Jeri since they were married (I was best man at that wedding),I must add that we have certainly lost a real mensch.
A big heart, along with the class and dignity that he emitted was only part of the reason he was so admirred and respected. And, the poise, charm and honesty just ozzed from him constantly.
Rest in peace, dear friend Gene, you will be remembered by many and loved by us all.

Dear Aunt Jeri & Family: I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Gene's passing. I hope you are comforted by the outpouring of love and honour for a truly incredible human being. I know that U. Gene is at peace, because no matter what life threw at him for over 8 decades, he always took it in stride, with a smile and the kindest heart. As a child, Uncle Gene had a huge impact on my life...I'm not sure that he knew that...but I have always treasured that I was his favourite...because he was mine too. How interesting that he passed at this high holy time too...between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur...it makes total sense to me...he was a very special Spirit, sent to show us all about love and acceptance. Rest peacefully, Uncle Gene. I love you.
