> Eugene was born on April 14, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, where he also met and married his wife, Josephine, and raised their children. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving the Pacific Campaign on the island of Guam during World War II when he was just 18 years old. After Eugene returned from his service, he was employed with the New York City Transit Authority, now the MTA, as a bus driver in Brooklyn for 25 years. The family then moved to Clifton, New Jersey in 1978. Before moving to Florida, Eugene lived in Sparta for 5 years.
> Eugene was a great, witty man loved by all. He enjoyed many summers relaxing at his lake home with his family, as well as playing cards with his grandchildren and fine Italian food.
> Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Goble Funeral Home AT 22 Main Street in Sparta on Thursday, July 31 from 2-4 and 7-9, and a memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 1 at St. Kateri at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans Affairs of New Jersey.
