Everett Raymond Ketchum East Lansing Born November 6, 1914 in LeRoy, Michigan to Earl Ray and Ruth Maud Porter, passed away September 17, 2013 at the age of 98. He was raised in Flint, Michigan. Everett was married to Corrine Ormiston Ketchum from October 1950 until her death in May 1996. He was married to Virginia Karandjeff from May 1998 until her death May 2002. Everett worked for General Motors primarily as a tool and die maker for 39 years and retired in 1975. He was a proud member of the UAW, Local 652. He participated in the Flint sit-down-strike in 1936-37, as noted in the book "Nothin' But Blue Skies" by Edward McClelland....

Born November 6, 1914 in LeRoy, Michigan to Earl Ray and Ruth Maud Porter, passed away September 17, 2013 at the age of 98. He was raised in Flint, Michigan. Everett was married to Corrine Ormiston Ketchum from October 1950 until her death in May 1996. He was married to Virginia Karandjeff from May 1998 until her death May 2002.

Everett worked for General Motors primarily as a tool and die maker for 39 years and retired in 1975. He was a proud member of the UAW, Local 652. He participated in the Flint sit-down-strike in 1936-37, as noted in the book "Nothin' But Blue Skies" by Edward McClelland. He was a long-time resident of East Lansing. Everett enjoyed automobiles, golf, family and friends.

Surviving are family members including nieces, Ruth M. Rague of Colorado, Louise (Robert) Waddell of North Carolina, Susann (Donald) Bugai of Michigan; nephew, Joseph (Elaine) Vask, Jr. of Missouri; step-grandson, Dr. Thomas (Kenwyn) Wood of Virginia; step-daughter, Judy (Robert Kleine) Karandjeff and their children and grandchildren, and friends including, Joe (Barbara) Backus and numerous others.

Everett was a founding member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in East Lansing for more than 50 years and recently lived at Independence Village. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Judy (Robert Kleine) Karandjeff and their children, grandchildren and friends including Joe Backus for their long and devoted care and friendship for Everett.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 4, 1:00 p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1315 Abbot Rd., East Lansing with the Rev. Maggie Osborn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Everett's memory to Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1315 Abbot Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823.
