"He was a man ahead of his time."
Everett A. Pearson, age 84, of Warren, RI and Estero, FL, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, in the Hope Hospice Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Virginia Bourne Pearson, to whom he had been married for 62 years.

TPI built wind blades, all-composite bus bodies, test track vehicles for Disney Imagineering, the branches on the Animal Kingdom Tree of Life, numerous other products, and the most well-known, J Boats. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his creative work with composites from the National Fabricator's Association. Later in life he continued running SwimEx and started Pearson Pilings.
An avid sailor, he competed in local yacht club and ocean racing, and was a member of the New York Yacht Club. He also enjoyed tennis and in later years playing golf at Wildcat Run Golf and Country Club in Estero, FL.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Mark E. Pearson and his wife, Tracy, of Warren, Suzanne P. Vaughan and her husband, Daniel, of Plymouth, MA, and Sandra L. I was deeply saddened to hear of Everett's passing. Although I had met him only briefly on a couple of occasions, if my dimming memory serves me, my Dad coached him in football at Pawtucket East- and Ginny you'll remain in my memory as the best looking cheerleader the Townies ever had.

Ginny, my earliest recollections of Everett and you are of growing up in Touissett when Arthur Allen owned the house you eventually bought, long before you were married. I recall his towing the fleet of Townies and White Caps to various NBYA regattas, and competing against him in S Boats in the mid 60

Dear Ginny and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences. So grateful that Everett as President of our high school class was able to attend the 65th reunion of Pawtucket East Senior High School in September 2016. He went out of his way to deliver an inspirational message to us even though he was not feeling well at the time. He was a kind and caring person. He will be dearly missed. Rest in peace Everett, and thank you for being the person many people will remember with love.
Sincerely,

Mrs. Pearson and family,
On behalf of my mother (Beth Shaw) and our family, we want to extend our condolences to you. On hearing of Mr. Pearson's passing, my mother exclaimed, " Oh the great times we had sailing with Bill, Everett, Ginny, Tom and Alice (Hazlehurst.) those memories of us all laughing and all so young are still with me."
You have a lifetime of memories to keep you smiling in the days ahead.
Thanks to your fathers vision, our father, William H. Shaw awakened each day living his dream of designing, racing and working with all of the wonderful people at Pearson Yachts.
Sincerely,
Patti Shaw Schneider, Westport, MA

To the Pearson family,
My sister Lynda Tisdell and I would like to express our condolences to you on the loss of Everett. He employed my father, Richard Tisdell in 1959 as the purchasing agent for Pearsons. Several years later my father became disabled and Everett helped him enormously by keeping him on the payroll and paying his health insurance. This financial generosity had an enormous affect on our family and the quality of life that my father enjoyed for the last years of his life. Everett's generosity helped alleviate part of the tremendous hardship that my father's illness had on him and his family. Also as a result of Everett's help, both my sister and I were able to continue our education, we both became teachers. My sister taught English in North Kingstown over 25 years and I have taught in the Bristol/Warren school system for 30 years. I am sure that there are several others who benefited from knowing Everett, his life choices will continue for affect people for years to come.
Sincerely,
Martha Tisdell
