Fanny Herschman (nee Gutman) a Holocaust Survivor, beloved wife of the late William. Loving mother of Edie (Alan-deceased) Hauptman, Toby Herschman Sims (John) Geiger and Irv Herschman. Devoted grandmother of Lisa (Michael) Salyers, Betsy (Todd) Coy, Sean Hauptman, Kelly (Keith) Sims Horter, Adam Sims, Step grandmother of John (JoElle), Jim (Shari), Richard (Kristen) and Brian (Shannon) Geiger. Cherished great grandmother of Shea, Cade, Aiden, Isabelle, Julia, Owen, Liliana and step great grandmother of Colleen, Johnny, Delaney, Sammy, Jocelyn, Melanie, Louis, Frances, Gavin and Griffin. Dear sister of the late Jacob, Chaim, Srul, Marcus, Nachem and Rose Gutman. Services will be held Sunday, October 7 at 2:30 P.M at the BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL 1985 S.Taylor Rd. Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Interment Bet Olam Cemetery. The Hauptman/Herschman Family will receive friends at the residence of E.Hauptman 220 Stonebrooke Oval, Orange Village SUNDAY FOLLOWING SERVICES UNTIL 8 P.M., MONDAY 1-5 P.M. The Geiger Family will receive friends at the Geiger residence 1356 Caryl Dr. Bedford, Oh. SUNDAY FOLLOWING SERVICES UNTIL 8 P.M., MONDAY 2-8 P.M., TUESDAY 2-8 P.M. Friends who wish may contribute to Park Synagogue Rabbi Skoff's Discretionary Fund.

Dear Edie, Irving and Toby. I visited Fanny the day she died , October 5 at about 2:00. I just heard yesterday from Toby that she died later that night. I am so terribly sorry I missed the services. I did not check the paper that day! I really loved Fanny she was a very special and most amazing person. Katie Holzheimer

My deepest sympathy and prayers for you! I love this photo of Fanny, that is how I remember her! I remember being over one day and Fanny was frying some beef bacon (which I had never had before in my entire life) and we sat and ate those sandwiches with mayo on them. I LOVED that bacon and have thought of that specific day SO many times; along with the way she would say my name that always sounded like 'kettle' instead of Carole! Fanny was a big part of my childhood. From feeding me pickles and chocolate chip cookies to yelling at me for picking her flowers. I was fortunate enough to see her while I was in Cleveland last month. She will be missed.
