Farley Grayson Brown Ragley - Farley Grayson Brown born March 27, 1921 in Leesville, La. passed away August 24, 2014 at his residence, after attaining the age of 93 years, 4 months, 28 days. He was a lifetime rancher, raised cattle, farmed soybeans, worked for 26 years for Trunkline Gas Co. He loved his mules and quarter horses. He served in World War ll and was stationed in Greenland as a Staff Sargent in the army. Farley was also a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Ragley - Farley Grayson Brown born March 27, 1921 in Leesville, La. passed away August 24, 2014 at his residence, after attaining the age of 93 years, 4 months, 28 days.
He was a lifetime rancher, raised cattle, farmed soybeans, worked for 26 years for Trunkline Gas Co. He loved his mules and quarter horses. He served in World War ll and was stationed in Greenland as a Staff Sargent in the army. Farley was also a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Melba Spikes Brown; daughter, Beverly and husband Teal Singletary of Ragley; granddaughter, Leslie and husband Bill Bell and great grandchildren, Alexis, Elyse and Rachael; nieces, Gayle and husband Glynn Pittman of Collinsville, MS; Beth and Gary Franklin of Lampassas, TX .He is preceded in death by his parents, George A. Brown and Ellie Westmoreland Brown; brother, Gordon L. Brown and nephew, Gordon Brian Brown.
His funeral will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley. James Kinman will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00am until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
