Faye A. Bell, of Clearfield passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Brookville Hospital after a long illness.
Ms. Bell was born in Reading, PA, the daughter of the John Nein and Vera (Remsnyder) Nein-Smith.
A graduate of Clearfield Area High School in 1954, she worked selling Avon and owned and operated the Glass Stand and Floral arrangements for years during Fair week under the grandstand. A retiree of the Commonwealth of PA, she began her career at Dague Nursery at Elliott State Park and then worked at the Clearfield County Board of Assistance where she worked her way from clerical staff to a supervisor of caseworkers. Ms. Bell had also served as a member of the Department of Public Assistance Social Committee.
Ms. Bell was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Clearfield.
She belonged to the Cayman Landing Campers Club in DuBois and had also belonged to several card clubs throughout the area.
She is survived by a son, Roger W. Bell II and his wife Robin of Clearfield; and a daughter, Shari L. Collins and her husband Jim of Clearfield, two grandchildren, Jimmy Collins and Nikki Collins both of Clearfield and a great granddaughter, Mara Mae Passarelli.
Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger W. Bell who she married on June 25, 1955 and who passed away on October 9, 1985 and her step father, Jim Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St Francis Roman Catholic Church of Clearfield with Msgr. Henry Krebs as Celebrant. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received at Bennett ans Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. A Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home at 5:45 P.M.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Young People Who Care, Marion House, 209 E. Walnut Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
