Mrs. Faye Rhodecap Fitzgerald, 82, of Mt. Sidney, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Shenandoah House at Augusta Health in Fishersville surrounded by her family after an extended illness. A daughter of the late John H. and Sarah Crawford Rhodecap, she was born on July 10, 1928 in Fairfax. She had been living in the Mt Sidney-Weyers Cave area for the majority of her life and graduated from Weyers Cave High School in 1946. Mrs. Faye Rhodecap Fitzgerald, 82, of Mt. Sidney, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Shenandoah House at Augusta Health in Fishersville surrounded by her family after an extended illness.
A daughter of the late John H. and Sarah Crawford Rhodecap, she was born on July 10, 1928 in Fairfax. She had been living in the Mt Sidney-Weyers Cave area for the majority of her life and graduated from Weyers Cave High School in 1946. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a homemaker and a member of Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church.
On June 8, 1950 she married Lawrence G. Fitzgerald, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 18, 2002.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Fitzgerald Harman and her husband, James M. of Mt. Sidney; a son, Lawrence "Larry" Fitzgerald, Jr. and friend, Dale Ann Soprano of Crimora; two grandchildren, Amanda Fitzgerald Clark and her husband Dylan B. and Jason Moreland Harman and
his wife, Jenny, all of Staunton; one sister, Janet Landes of Mt. Sidney; a number of nieces and nephews and a faithful and loyal family pet, Brandi Belle.
She was preceded in death by sisters LaVerne Flory of Nokesville, and Louise Akers of Verona and brothers, Jack Rhodecap of Weyers Cave and Wes Rhodecap of Mt. Crawford.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection and Thanksgiving of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 27th at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Beth McCrary officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends in the John Craig Social Hall following the memorial service.
