Florence Ruth Gargis Weathers, 83, of Cary formerly a life-long resident of Raleigh, died Thursday, May 18th at her home. Ruth was born in Raleigh on September 8, 1933; she was the daughter of the late, Joseph Norman Gargis and Janie Holder Gargis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis D. Weathers; her son, David Scott Weathers; son-in-law, Bill Ray; brothers, Buddy Gargis, JD Gargis; sister, Lib Gargis Pruitt.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Gloria W. Davis and husband, Norman of Cary; son, Mike Weathers and wife, Shelia of Hamptonville, NC; 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Brooks Weathers and Becca Ray and Lily Davis; and 1 great-grandson, Colbey McKinney; sister, Evelyn Thompson of Raleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 20th from 4-6 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3739 National Dr. Raleigh, NC 27612.
