Mrs. Florence E. (Gard) McDonald, age 88, of Lynn, died Saturday morning in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James Pius Raymond McDonald. Born in Lynn, Florence was the daughter of the late Percy and Ann (Butler) Gard. She attended Lynn Schools, was a graduate of Lynn English High School and resided in Lynn her entire life. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an assembler in the fluorescent dept. for Champion Lamps and Norelco. She also spent 15 years in the Lynn School Dept. as a Lunch Aide and worked as a waitress for Luther Williams Caterers. She enjoyed spending time with her...
Mrs. Florence E. (Gard) McDonald, age 88, of Lynn, died Saturday morning in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James Pius Raymond McDonald.
Born in Lynn, Florence was the daughter of the late Percy and Ann (Butler) Gard. She attended Lynn Schools, was a graduate of Lynn English High School and resided in Lynn her entire life.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as an assembler in the fluorescent dept. for Champion Lamps and Norelco. She also spent 15 years in the Lynn School Dept. as a Lunch Aide and worked as a waitress for Luther Williams Caterers.
She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as knitting and crocheting.
She leaves her children, James McDonald and his wife Linda of Lynn, Diane Diorio and Donna Rae McDonald both of Lynn. She was the sister to Howard Gard and his wife Betty of Ft. Myers, FL Delma April of Dracut and the sister-in-law to Mona Gard of Lynn. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late Robert, Bernard, Donald, Henry and William Gard and Frances Gilmore.
Her Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday at 10AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8PM. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the , 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
