Florene Williams Arnold was born on May 17, 1926 in Madill Oklahoma to Zola and Noah Williams. Florene was 87 years old when she was called home to be with our Lord. Florene left us on June 10th, 2013 at Integris Southwest Medical Center. Her passing was calm and peaceful after her long battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zola Mae Williams and Noah Williams and by her only child, Lofton Irwin Arnold. Florene is survived by her loving sister and caregiver, Noweda Farris, and numerous nieces, nephews, loving friends and longtime neighbors. Florene was a talented musician and poet. She played many instruments including the piano and organ as well as the guitar. Through her life she often listened to gospel music and continued to do so even on the day prior to her passing. Florene was an avid animal lover and doted on the animals in her care. She was soft hearted toward all animals and made a place for many animals when the owners were no longer able to care for them. She once had owned a monkey, several dogs, birds and even crickets. When she could no longer care for animals she continued to feed the wild birds and had a flock visit her every afternoon for many years. She would not harm a fly, literally, many nieces and nephews chased flies toward the door to allow them to safely exit. Florene was a born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and baptized woman of God. She spent many days and nights fasting and praying as the spirit led her. She had prayer time daily for special requests or needs for the family and friends. She often prayed for people in crises unknown to her but reported on by the news. Florene would often say, "All I can do is pray" and she did it unceasingly. Auntie was a devoted prayer warrior of God and faithful servant to our Lord Jesus Christ. Florene will be missed but never far from our thoughts and always present in our heart.
