Floyd Edmond Dixon

SFC (Ret) Floyd E. Dixon, 66, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Charlotte, died Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was born December 27, 1945 in Paris, France to the late Walter Dixon and Janine Bour Dixon.

Floyd enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam as a SeaBee in the Happy Valley. He later enlisted in the United States Army Reserve, and served with the 108th as an instructor. Mr. Dixon worked with Cremilde Blank in a wine company, and later as a deputy sheriff for Mecklenburg County. He moved to Raleigh, NC in the late 1990's.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his son, Paul Dixon and his wife Hillary; granddaughter, Vivian Alice Dixon; sisters, Andreé Dixon, Louise Dixon, and Denise Dixon; and half-brother, Reg Dixon.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the chapel of Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte.
