Floyd Hardin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 19, 2013.

Floyd Eugene Hardin, 88, passed away June 14, 2013. He was born on January 3, 1925 in Muskogee, OK to James Robert and Myrtle Olive Hardin. He graduated from Muskogee High School in 1943 and entered the Army, serving in the South Pacific until 1946. Returning to Muskogee, Floyd married Helen Cowan on April 17, 1947. He continued his military career, both active and reserve, until retiring from the Air Force in 1985. He was employed at Tinker AFB for 40 years. He and Helen made their home in Midwest City. In later years, Floyd became a member of Church of the Servant UMC, actively participating in the Parakletos Sunday School
class and Prime Time senior group. He enjoyed going to the gym, having lunch at the MWC Senior Center, attending TFCU Heritage Club trips, and beating anyone who was willing to play him in dominoes. His life long commitment and desire to take care of family and friends, his quiet charm and his wisdom will be greatly missed. He lived his life the way all men should; with the utmost honor and integrity. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, his parents and his brother. He is survived by 3 children: Troy Hardin of Huntsville, AL; Terry Hardin of Oklahoma City, and Jeannie Hardin Schoeb of Oklahoma City; 4 grandchildren: Chris Hardin, Elizabeth Hardin Shoemake, Emiley Schoeb Bainbridge and Rebecca Schoeb; and 5 great grandchildren: Carlie and Wesley Hardin, Olivia Bainbridge, and Kaitlin and Roark Shoemake. The Family would like to extend special thanks to both the Mercy Hospital and Quail Ridge Assisted Living Staffs.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday June 20, 2013, Paylor Family Funeral Care Chapel followed by burial at Kolb Cemetery, Spencer, Oklahoma.
