Dr. Fuller was a fine and engaging professor at DePauw. I can only guess how many lives he has positively influenced over his lifetime. As a graduate student in the Department, I learned teaching skills as well as life skills from Dr. Fuller's exemplary behavior. I'm pleased to see that he lived a long life well-supported by family, friends and colleagues. Perhaps an exemplary Zoology Professor was needed in Heaven.

to the Fuller family:
my condolences to all because he affected us all.
We have many fond memories from the very early years with Forst and Mary Lou sharing supper with a couple of married students to years later seeing him again in South Carolina and on campus. We will indeed miss him.

Dr. Fuller was, hands down, my favorite professor of all! Of course he had mastery of his material, but he was also wise, generous, calm, humorous, and able to make the obtuse clear. He inspired us to be the best scientists we could be...the best people we could be! He was loved (as you know) and will be dearly missed!

Dear Fuller Family,
When I saw Dr. Fuller's obituary yesterday, it brought back wonderful memories of one of my favorite profs at DePauw. I graduated in 1982, but even after 30 years I can remember his Human Physiology class and lectures, particularly the anecdotes involving family members (he certainly loved and was proud of his family) and his GREAT laugh. His examples were memorable (I'll bet anyone who had the class can remember the impossible garden hose in the deep end of the pool for extra credit opportunity) or the "life story of a pimple" or the labs where the frogs were "shocked" into action. At any rate, please know that Dr. Fuller had a powerfu, positive influence on my life, as I am sure he did for hundreds of other students. He was such a JOY to be around, in and out of class, and a great "explainer" for non-science types like me. I am happy to find that he lived for 97 years. In college, I remember he sometimes had a terrible cough, and I (as a young and naive college student) thought he might be on his 'last legs' then.. My, was I wrong, and thankfully so. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I am a teacher in Frankfort, Indiana, and to me, he embodied all the BEST aspects any teacher could have. Sincerely, Ann Buser
