Frances Burris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 5, 2017.

Frances "Frankie" Faye Burris, 69, of Lake Jackson TX entered heavens gates and went home on April 3 2017. Frankie was born on December 23 1947 in Dallas to loving parents Lawrence & Bonnie McPartland. Frankie married James Burris in Freeport TX on November 13 1965 and they celebrated 48 years of marriage until James passed in 2013.
Frankie was a loving mother who taught her children many lessons, but two in particular will stick with them always. First, as she helped to take care of her family, a tremendous work ethic. She was always working on something; in her professional career she spent 43 years with Maxim Crane working her way up to being the General Manager; she raised her children, supported her husband – she was always busy. The second lesson she taught her children was that she has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and she has a strong testimony of prayer and the power of prayer. She would pray often, following that lesson from Luke 18:1 "…always to pray, and not to faint." Frankie was special in that she made friends everywhere. If she collected anything in life, it was friends. She seemed to know everyone, and cared about everyone. Frankie was a dear friend, a special woman, a precious daughter, a loving wife, a beloved mother, a loving Nonnie, and a sweet sister; she loved her family more than anything else in this life or the next, and she will be missed by many.
Frankie is preceded in death by her husband, James Burris; grandson Jared Burris; father Larry McPartland, and a brother, Bill McPartland.
Frankie is survived by her mother, Bonnie McPartland; son Terry (Mileesa) Burris; daughter Tamy (Tracy) Roberts; and son Tim (Candice) Burris. She is further survived by her grandchildren Adam, Caleb, Nicholas, Darren, and Valerie; as well as a great grandchild Alena. She is also survived by her sisters Carol Hall and Larry Kay Vardeman, her brother Jimmy McPartland, as well as many nieces, nephews, and of course, many very dear friends.
A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday April 8 2017 at Restwood Funeral Home from 10am to 11am, with a funeral service beginning at 11am. Frankie will be laid to rest in Gulf Prairie Cemetery after her funeral.
