Frances Louise Thompson, 93, of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Born in Savannah, Georgia in early 1924, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Sally Edna Smith Herndon. Frances, lovingly known as "Aunt Toby", was a member of the First Baptist Church, Downtown Jacksonville, a dedicated member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, Brentwood Chapter where she served as the Worthy Matron from 1985-1986 and was a member of the Daughter of the Nile.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Thompson, Barbara T. Stout, and Ernest E. Thompson, Jr.; grandchildren, Mark Burns, Darren Bennetti, Brandy Thompson, and Bryan Thompson; great-grandchildren, Brandon Burns, Danielle Bennetti, and Makenzie Swiger; and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband who passed away in 1979, Ernest E. Thompson, Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 9:30am at Hardage-Giddens, Greenlawn Funeral Home 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
