Frances was born in Princess Anne County, Virginia on May 07, 1918 to William Charles and Laura Atla Walters. She had one sister, Marvel Vaughan. She married Ernest Compagna in 1962. Frances had two daughters, two step-children, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. Frances was a member of Lemon Grove United Methodist Church since the early 1950's. She spent a lot of time researching her families genealogy. Frances was a member of Lemon Grove United Methodist Church since the early 1950's. She spent a lot of time researching her families genealogy. She worked for the San Diego City Schools as a Secretary until she retired. She was a member of the Gamma XI Sorority for many years. In her later years Frances was a part of the Silly Old Grandmothers Club where they would meet regularly for lunch and to exchange stories. She loved to travel and had many hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, reading and enjoying friends and good food.
Graveside Service and Interment will be on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, CA.
Memorial Service will be on that same day at Lemon Grove United Methodist Church at 12 noon.
Frances was much loved and will be deeply missed.
