Born on October 2, 1920 in Lansing, MI, to Dabney and Blanche (Hendren) Rogers, passed away peacefully June 6, 2012 at the age of 91. Frances is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior and her beloved husband Howdy, who predeceased her on March 30, 2007. She is also reunited with her mother and father, her brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Betty Rogers, brother Jim Rogers, and son-in-law Jim Mills and the many friends and family that have gone before her. Frances graduated from Eastern High School and worked for Dr. CC Huggett in Lansing. Frances was married to Howard for 65 years and was a devoted wife and mother, lovingly meeting the needs of her family and ministering by Howards side as a pastors wife. She was "Mommy Belknap" to the many children who were cared for in her home over the course of 25 years. Frances loved to be outdoors doing yard work and gardening, especially her rose bushes. She enjoyed fishing with Howard and her grandchildren and spending time at Bennet Lake and Louis Lake. She spent time with her grandchildren and attended their sporting events, plays, concerts and different activities. Time with grandma was special because she always made you feel like the most important person there. Frances had a gentle spirit and showed everyone she met the love of Jesus. We want to thank Lisa and her staff at the Flower House for the wonderful care that each one gave Mom. Thank you for loving "Franny", you truly are her extended family. Mom will be dearly missed by all. Surviving Frances are her children, who were the love of her life, Howard Jr. (Debby) Belknap, Patricia Mills, Roger Belknap and Stephen (Jo) Belknap, beloved grandchildren, Howard III, Michelle (Chris) Maher, Lindsay (Rick) Merrill, Aaron (Katy) Mills, Keeley (Spencer) Creasey, Craig (Jill) Belknap, Scott (Courtney)Belknap, Jared Belknap, Becky (Daryn) Pederson, Stephen Belknap Jr., Alisa Belknap, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing, MI 48912 with Pastor Mark Woodbury, Charlotte Assembly of God, officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr., Lansing, MI 48917 in memory of Frances Belknap.
