Frances L. Bernier of Niantic passed away May 10, 2014 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. She was born February 1, 1923 in Manchester, NH daughter of Norbert Roux and Anna Roberge. They then settled in New Britain, CT in 1925 where she attended St. Mary's School, Rockwell Junior High, and New Britain Senior High School. During World War II she was employed as an assembler at Universal Landers Frary and Clark. Frances was married to Roger J. Bernier on December 2, 1950 in St. Joseph Church in New Britain. Frances L. Bernier of Niantic passed away May 10, 2014 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 1, 1923 in Manchester, NH daughter of Norbert Roux and Anna Roberge. They then settled in New Britain, CT in 1925 where she attended St. Mary's School, Rockwell Junior High, and New Britain Senior High School.

During World War II she was employed as an assembler at Universal Landers Frary and Clark.

Frances was married to Roger J. Bernier on December 2, 1950 in St. Joseph Church in New Britain. The family built a home at Attawan Beach, Niantic, CT in 1953 where they vacationed.

In 1959 she and her husband purchased the Kelley Funeral Home in New London. The funeral home was later renamed the Kelley-Bernier Funeral Home. She associated with her husband until retiring in 1983 and they then made their permanent residence in Niantic.

Frances is survived by her sons, Daniel Bernier of Newington, Gerald (Jerry) and wife Valerie Bernier of Niantic, John and wife Lisa Bernier of Salem; sisters Evelyn Cammarata of Berlin and Rita Desrochers of Berlin as well as two grandchildren, Olivia and Matthieu Bernier both of Salem. She is predeceased by her daughter Karen Bernier Cline, her brother John Roux, and sister Ceil DiPace.

Frances was a member of St. Agnes Church, Niantic. She was also a member of the Father Brennan Circle #582 Daughters of Isabella, the past president and life member of John Coleman Prince Post American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a past president of the 8/40 Salon, La Boutique Des Huit ET Quarante Femmes.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic at 9 AM before a Mass of Christian Burial which will take place at 10:30 AM in St. Agnes Church, Niantic.
