Once her children were older, she worked at Buffums, Pathology Medical Group, and Pomona Valley Community Hospital. She moved to Big Bear, CA in 1978, and worked as a medical secretary. In 1981 she married Richard Bolz. They resided briefly in Las Vegas where Richard worked as a physicist before returning to Big Bear, and subsequently moved to Roseburg, OR. The two of them loved to travel. After Richard's death, Frances moved to Ontario, CA and has resided at Inland Christian Home since 2011, where she was loved by all the staff. Frances enjoyed ancestry, reading, puzzles, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing spider solitaire. She was a lifelong Catholic and amazing mother and grandmother, with a wonderful sense of humor. She also served as Brownie leader and room mother at St. Joseph's Elementary School (Pomona), and was a troop organizer for the East San Gabriel Counsel of Girl Scouts. She was previously a member of the YMCA, Young Antonians, St. Joseph Altar Society, and Pomona Valley Mother of Twins Club. Frances is survived by her five children, Jane (Miles) Thorburn of Grants Pass, OR, Karen (Tom) Borba of Ontario, CA, Steven (Rita) Tedeschi of Lewisville, TX, Andrew Tedeschi of Montclair, CA, and Daniel Tedeschi of Grants Pass, OR. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include three stepchildren, Mara Leary, Michael Bolz and Daniel Bolz, all of New York. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Carraher Jr. and her parents. A rosary and memorial service will be held Thursday, July 31, at 6:00pm at Draper Funeral Home in Ontario. Funeral mass will be held at All Souls Catholic Church in Myrtle Creek, OR on Tuesday, August 5, at 11:00am. Her ashes will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Roseburg, OR. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Catholic Charities, 1800 Western Ave. Suite 107, San Bernardino, CA 92411. Please notate all donations "in memory of Frances Bolz."
