Frances Louise Chigbrow (93) Born October 7, 1919 in Kirwin, Kansas to Charles and Gertrude Townsend passed away on October 17th, 2012 at Grand Coulee, Washington's Coulee Medical Center. In Kirwin, Kansas, on October 8, 1939 one day following her 20th birthday Miss Frances Townsend married Mr. Raymond Chigbrow, with whom she would share the next forty-seven years.
During the construction of the third power house in 1967, they lived next to Shery in the government housing outside of Electric City, known as Coulee Grande'. Frances was always very social, loved being around others, music, particularly country and enjoyed a good game of bridge. She enjoyed many road trips traveling about the country with Ray, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her beloved Ray in 1986; brother: Hugh Townsend and loving companion: Pete George; Frances' legacy lives on through her daughter: Shery Snow (Quincy); son: Brent Chigbrow (Linda); step-daughter: Dixie Huntington (Don); grandchildren: Kelly Snow (Kolea), Stacy Mattson (Bud), Dejoni Absher, Christin Kolzig, Marisa Grenell and DJ Coudert; several great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
At Frances' request cremation has taken place with family services at a later date. Her family requests donations be made in Frances' memory to the Carson Kolzig Foundation named for her great-grandson and founded to Enhance Treatment Options for Autism, to provide support for families with Autistic members and to educate the community at large about Autism.
