Frances Glendale "Glennie" Corwin, 91 of Mt. Carmel, IL died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Oakview Heights Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel, IL. She was born March 14, 1923 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Sereno B. and Gladys M. (Kays) Sperry. She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School. Glennie first married Vernon Franklin Corwin in 1941 in Carmi, IL. He was killed in a car accident in 1943. Glennie married George F. Corwin on February 8, 1946 in Mt. Carmel, IL. George and Glennie were married 62 years until George's death in 2009. She was born March 14, 1923 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Sereno B. and Gladys M. (Kays) Sperry. She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.

Glennie first married Vernon Franklin Corwin in 1941 in Carmi, IL. He was killed in a car accident in 1943. Glennie married George F. Corwin on February 8, 1946 in Mt. Carmel, IL. George and Glennie were married 62 years until George's death in 2009.

Glennie is survived by three children: Billie (Ken) Terry of Mt. Carmel, Tom (Sarah) Corwin of Mooresville, IN, and Jerry (Mary Ellen) Corwin of Mt. Carmel. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Kenny Terry, Chris Corwin, Josh Corwin, Julia Corwin, Mandy Uhlrich, Heather Westlake, Emily Rummel, and Megan Coy. She was also survived by twelve great-grandchildren: Kylee, Emma, and Abby Westlake, Audrey and Anna Uhlrich, Sophie, Caleb, and Elise Corwin, Malik, Maleah, and Micaiah Coy, and Tiffany Terry. A sister, Dixie (Lee) Norman of Oklahoma also survives.

Glennie was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and a brother, Jack Sperry.

Glennie was a member of Parkview Christian Church in Mt. Carmel.

Through the years Glennie worked at different businesses as a secretary, telephone operator, and as a babysitter. Glennie was very artistic and loved to draw and paint pictures. She also loved her family, camping, and going to yard sales. At Oakview Nursing Home, she loved the word games they played, bingo, going to church services, and listening to the groups performing music for the residents.

Her wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Jacob's Well in Mt. Carmel on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00pm for family and friends. Graveside services will be at a later date at Allendale Cemetery in Allendale, IL. Memorials may be made to the in her memory.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ingram Funeral Home of Allendale, IL.
