It is with deepest sadness we announce Frances` sudden passing on Wednesday, August 21st while visiting her daughter and family in Montreal. Born on July 22, 1943, she grew up in Halifax, the daughter of her late proud parents Charles and Charlotte Flemming. Fran was well loved by her siblings who thought of her as the pillar of the family. She married the love of her life, Barry in 1966 embarking on a life of adventure having lived in Toronto, Germany and Montreal before moving back to Halifax in 1995. As a resident of Bedford, Fran`s door was always open and for many people served as a second home. Fran lived for her family. Her daughter Margaret and her son Charles were never out of her thoughts. The same love was shared with her son-in-law Eric Green and grandchildren Megan, Riley and Connor, and Charles` love Jessica Nagle. Frances attended St. Patrick`s High School, before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, a journalism diploma from University of Kings College, and a Bachelor of Education from Dalhousie University. Frances was a journalist and editor at various newspapers and magazines. She taught school and in more recent years was a business partner to her husband with their company IXL International. Frances kept a very busy life, being an avid traveller and reader. She loved her time with the ladies at the Halifax Curling Club, bowling, and bridge clubs- her friends meant the world to her. Frances often volunteered her time in various organizations, and her generosity knew no bounds. She will always live in the hearts of her husband Barry, daughter Margaret (Eric), grandchildren Megan, Riley and Connor ; son Charles (Jessica). As well she will always be remembered by her siblings, Paula Cogan, Lorna Flemming (John), Charlie Flemming (Sandra), Mary Dexter (Richard) , Bernie Flemming and Barry`s siblings Brian (Darlene), Paul (Vita), Gerry (Helena), Pamela Misiner (David), Christine Bawden (John) , Sandra (deceased) and Eric (deceased), as well as 35 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 28 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm; and on Thursday, August 29 from 10-12 followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm at J.A.
