Frances was born April, 25, 1932 in Gonzales, TX, daughter of Horace C. and Sallie Mae (Jordan) Blanton. Her older brother, Wick Blanton, predeceases her. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, James Thomas Pirtle, three daughters, Frances Lynne (Randy) Johns, Jamie Carol Peffley, Susan Kay (Dr. Douglas) Girod, eight grandchildren, Clinton, Ryan, Adam, Nicole, Mark, Katelyn, Callie, Jimmie and seven great-grandchildren.
Frances grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she developed her love of music and dancing. There, she also met and married the love of her life, James Thomas Pirtle and had a family of three daughters. Along with her family, she was an active member of the United Methodist Church and P.E.O.
For much of her life, Frances was a wonderful homemaker, cook, mother and wife. But for a significant period, she was also a pre-school teacher; she loved interacting and helping to mold young children with her gentle but firm influence. When she and Jim met, she was teaching ballet, and always loved to watch ballet programs.
Jim and Frances were active Round Dancers, Ball Room dancing and travelers, traveling around the USA, Mexico, Alaska, Nova Scotia and Canada in their motorhomes, with their beloved dogs Josie and Sadie. Frances also loved to travel the globe with Jim, and shared many wonderful adventures.
Frances loved her family, and arranged annual family reunions, many at a beach house in Monterey, CA which have become legendary in family circles. In addition to the outings, games and visiting, everyone always looked forward to Frances' cooking.
Frances was never a complainer, having to uproot family and friends several times to relocate with Jim to various construction job locations. She really kept the family together during these stressful locations.
