"Mr. Frank and Miss Arlie" were grand-neighbors to my kids when Mother kept them. Our Aaron enjoyed eating crackers & cheese in their kitchen and playing dress-up with the hats and stuff in Miss Arlie's trunk. Almost as soon as he could talk, when we'd enter Mother's kitchen, he'd be saying, "Ah wanna go to Miss Ahhhhlie's house! Mimi, can I cawl Miss Ahhhhlie?" Arlie would say, "Well, I'm having some breakfast and I'm going to get dressed here in a minute, then directly, you can come over for about an hour." Both Frank and Arlie were friends to Aaron, loving him as a toddler, providing refuge when that little sister arrived, and encouraging Aaron to be the very best big brother that Kayte and Ethan could have had. The Clarksons invested their love and time in our kids and helped shape them into good citizens. When I mistakenly thought that Aaron had disobeyed me by going somewhere after school without permission (he was rehearsing for NJHS ceremony pre-cellphone), he was rightly indignant that I'd even considered the possibility, he said, "Mama, I wouldn't have done that - what would Mr. Frank and Miss Arlie have thought?!!!" Their love for Jesus, and for each other, that they shared with such grace was a blessing and inspiration. Oh, sweet family, we grieve with and for you.
