Francis R. "Chick" Kehoe 83, of Marlow, NH, died Thursday, May 08, 2014 at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Keene, NH, following a brief illness. He was born in Worcester, Mass., July 08, 1930, the son of Mary (Monahan) and Francis J. Kehoe. He grew up in Worcester attending local schools. Mr. Kehoe served in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts from 1949-1956, in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War, and then the U.S. Army Reserves from 1958-1962. Francis R. "Chick" Kehoe 83, of Marlow, NH, died Thursday, May 08, 2014 at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Keene, NH, following a brief illness.

He was born in Worcester, Mass., July 08, 1930, the son of Mary (Monahan) and Francis J. Kehoe. He grew up in Worcester attending local schools.

Mr. Kehoe served in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts from 1949-1956, in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War, and then the U.S. Army Reserves from 1958-1962.

He worked for many years as a long-haul truck driver with Holmes Transportation in Barre, Vermont. He was a member of the National Riffle Association, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Teamsters Local Union #597

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He had a special pet bear that would frequent his back yard, who he named "Roscoe". He was an avid sports fan, enjoying watching the Red Sox and Patriots. Mr. Kehoe took great pride in caring for his home and yard. He was known for his offering of various opinions, especially when it came to politics.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa J. "Terry" Coleman of Keene; five grandchildren, Herbert Coleman of Keene, April Coleman of Durham, NH, John Coleman of Claremont, NH, Ben Coleman of Swanzey, NH, Cindy Coleman of Keene; two great-grandchildren, Melanie Coleman and Jenna Coleman, both of Claremont; two brothers, Donald Kehoe of Alstead, NH and Gerald Kehoe of Worcester, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Jeanne R. (Bouley) Kehoe, who died June 23, 2000; a brother, Paul Kehoe; and a sister, Maureen Chagnon.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial with military honors will follow in the Village Cemetery, Church Street, Marlow. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Foley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Kehoe's memory to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 21, c/o Linda Hunt (Commander), 182 Marcy Hill Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
