SCHANTZ, FRANCIS W. "FRAN" - age 93 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, August, 12, 2012. He was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church. He graduated from Clarkson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Mr. Schantz retired from Rohm & Haas as a Chemical Engineer after 40 years of service. He was a member of Holston Hills Country Club and enjoyed playing golf there for 60 years. He and Margaret played duplicate bridge at Deane Hill Center. Fran was a family man, his wife Margaret of 61 years, was the love of his life and this love carried over to his children and grandchildren. Survivors...

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Schantz; daughters, Liz (Zeno) Brown and Lucy (David) Smith; grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Smith of New York, NY, Hayley (Bret) Huskey of Alcoa, Lauren Brown and Ames Brown both of Knoxville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fountain City United Methodist Church, 212 Hotel Ave., Knoxville, TN 37918. A private graveside service was held Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery.
