On this day of Sunday, January 19, 2014, our Lord Jesus Christ, called upon his daughter, Francisca Marroquin Chavez. Francisca was 65 years of age. She was born on April 20, 1948, to Rogelio and Martina Marroquin. Francisca was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to all. Her warm smile will be dearly missed. Francisca was very talented and will be remembered for her lovely arts and crafts and beautiful floral arrangements. She was a friend to all that crossed her path and a kind-hearted woman who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rogelio T. Marroquin; sister, Theodosa Marroquin; mother-in-law, Virginia Martinez Fierro; grandmothers, Carmen Vasquez Chavez and Francisca Garcia; and father-in-law, Pedro Vasquez Chavez.
Francisca is survived by her loving husband of forty-three years, John J. Chavez; son, Tony Chavez and wife, Valerie; son Joe Henry Chavez and fiancé, Marissa Sanchez; three grandchildren; sister, Janie (Ruben) Colmenero; two brothers, Ezekial (Elva) Marroquin and David (Monica) Marroquin, nine nephews, four nieces, four great nephews and six great nieces.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at Taft Memorial Park.
