Frank Reeves Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 15, 2017.

REEVES Frank Reeves, "poppy", 89, of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Florida with his family in 1957. Frank has been a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church since its inception in 1961. He was a devote Catholic and good and faithful servant of the Lord. Frank served his country in the Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. Frank was a trucker by trade and enjoyed driving his "big rig" and doing all the maintenance on it, along with his wife Mary. He was a hard worker and enjoyed mowing his grass and growing his tomatoes and eggplants with his great granddaughter Jasaira. His favorite pastime was deep sea fishing for dolphin "Mahi-Mahi" in the Florida keys. He and his family would stay in Marathon Key enjoying a two-week fishing vacation…extended to three weeks if the fishing was good! He enjoyed going to the Ringling Bros and Barnum Bailey Circus every year with his wife, daughter Betty and grandchildren Cathy and April for his granddaughters birthdays. He and his wife also got to go one time in his latter years with his granddaughter Cathy and his great granddaughter Jasaira. He loved strawberry picking season and along with his wife Mary, used to take his granddaughters Cathy and April to pick strawberries to bring home to make jam and strawberry shortcakes. He and his wife used to enjoy making trips to Georgia to visit his family and bring back peaches for canning. In his latter years, he & his wife got to enjoy many, one-week vacations in Orlando, Florida with his granddaughter Catherine Dawson and her family including trips to all four Walt Disney World theme parks and SeaWorld. Frank and his wife got to enjoy a two-week vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada with his daughter Camilla and her husband in 2007. He enjoyed life to the fullest and had a great 89 years! Frank is preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, his wife Mary Reeves and his daughter Catherine A. Reeves. He is survived by his loving sister Catherine Ertle; children Betty Kaufman and her husband, Camilla Merritt and Catherine R. Dawson; grandchildren Denise, Neal, April and Cathy "Doodlebug"; great grandchildren Aubria, Neal Jr., Carlo, Maddie, Jasaira "Doodlebug 2" and Paisly "Doodlebug 3" and great-great grandchild Dylan. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Graveside service will follow at Florida National Cemetery with full Military Honors @ 1:30 p.m. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
