Frank Palmer Chapman, Jr.

Frank Palmer Chapman, Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on June 23, 2013. Born July 24, 1922 in Santa Monica, CA, Palmer lived to be 90. Palmer was a decorated Air Force WWII Aviator, serving in the Pacific Theater, Europe, China and India. He attended Montana State College during his Army Air Corp. service and radio school in Sioux Falls, So. Dakota. He was a member of the El Dorado Community Church, and has lived in Placerville for 38 years. Palmer retired from McDonald Douglas and loved Square Dancing and softball leagues, served on the STARS patrol and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Palmer was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary. Father of Frank Chapman, III, Diane Apodaca and Maggie and brother of Kay Elliott. Grandfather of Shannon Chapman, Stacie Chapman-Bohnsack, Jenny Barnes and Katie Lopez. Great grandfather of Ava Lopez, Gavin Lopez and Lyla Bohnsack. Father-in-Law of Marilynn Chapman, Steve Apodaca and Frank and also survived by many close friends.
Memorial Services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the El Dorado Community Church , 4701 Church St., El Dorado, CA. Private interment has been held at the El Dorado Cemetery in El Dorado. Friends are invited to leave condolences and sign an electronic guestbook at www.chapelofthepinesfunerals.com
