Frankie Wells Wickham, 82, of Columbus, Georgia, died on Friday, September 15, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Donna Gafford officiating.
Frankie was born October 24, 1934 in Jenkins County, Georgia, the only child of Frank Phillips
Wells and Kathleen Hatcher Wells. She lived and attended school in Midville, Georgia and finished her high school education at North Avenue Presbyterian School (NAPS) in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Emory University and graduated in 1955 from the University of Georgia where she was a member of
Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Upon graduation from UGA, Frankie moved to Columbus, Georgia to teach junior high school English. She married William (Billy) Charles Wickham in December, 1955.
Over the years, Frankie enjoyed riding horses and playing tennis, was active in supporting the Springer
Opera House, the Midland Fox Hounds Pony Club, Historic Columbus Foundation, Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry, the Uptown Food Pantry, and numerous bible studies. Frankie was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church and joyful servant of our Lord.
Frankie is survived by her children Kathleen(Kathy) Wickham Chancellor and her husband J. Edgar Chancellor, III and William(Bill) Charles Wickham, Jr. and his wife Allison Ford Wickham; her grand-children James Edgar(Chance) Chancellor IV, Kathleen Wells Chancellor, Alexander Clarendon(A.C.)Chancellor II, Margaret Wells Wickham, and William(Will) Dozier Wickham; sister-in-law Judith Massey Wickham; her nephew Malon Murray Wickham and his wife Laura Smith Wickham; and her great nieces Carolyn Hanna Wickham and Mary Bailey Wickham Bryan and her husband Benjamin Causden Bryan.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Covenant Woods Personal Care, where Frankie resided for three years, and Orchard View, where Frankie had resided since May of this year, for their care and kindness.
Those desiring may make donations to the Saint Francis Fund at Trinity Episcopal Church 1130 First Avenue, Columbus, Georgia 31901 or a favorite charity.

I always appreciated Mrs. Wickham at Midland and her support of the pony club there when I was a youngster. She was so nice and Im so sorry to hear of her passing. My love and sympathy to her family. John Posey
