Frederick Marble, 75, of Oneonta, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at AO Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
He was born on July 23, 1942 in Oneonta, the son of Claude Marble and Elvira Peggy Roberts. He married Bonnie J. Lindberg on September 30, 1967 at the Salvation Army Church in Oneonta.
Fred was employed for 48 years as a kitchen work for Aramark at Hartwick College.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling to antique car shows with his son, Claude eating happy meals and popcorn.
Fred is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie J. Marble of Oneonta; sisters, Donna Payne, Rose and Mitchel Hitts, and Shirley and Bill Perkins; brother, Roger and Denny Oliver; brothers and sisters in law, David and Penney Lindberg, Iver and Lillian Lindberg, Betty Barnes, Richard and Judy Lindberg, Susan and Ivan Norton, Frank and Ruth Lindberg, Donald and Dody Lindberg, Norma Jones, Deborah and Walter Stretch, Esther Roote, Doug Lindberg and George Parliman; aunt, Isabelle Houck; several nieces, nephews and cousins; good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Chandra Kaly, and Helena P. Stevens; and 3 furry companions, his cats, Pretty Girl, Little Man, and Little Miss Minnie.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son, Claude Marble; his step father, William Oliver; brothers, Raymond Marble and Bomber Oliver; sister and brother in law Susan and Vern Wally; brothers and sisters in law, Barbara McManus, John H. Lindberg, John Roote, Louie Barnes, and Ernest Jones; mother and father in law, David and Dorothy Lindberg; niece, Tracey Lindberg; aunt and uncle, Eleanore and Ernest Knapp; as well as several beloved furry companions, dogs, Samson, Hawk Jr. and Lobo Marble, and cats, Beavis, Butt Butt, and Sissy Girl.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 12-1pm at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St, Oneonta, where a funeral service will take place at 1 pm immediately following, with Rev. Mel Farmer officiating.
Burial will take place in Lena Cemetery, New Lisbon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's memory are asked to be made to AO Fox Hospital Nuring Home and Hartwick College.
