Mr. Casimo, age 88, of Charlotte, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital - Main. Born October 16, 1924 in Jenkinjones, WV, he was the son of the late Petro "Mike" Casimo and Cora Poole Casimo. Mr. Casimo served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. During the war, he flew 33 missions in the South Pacific as a side gunner and radio operator in a B-25 Mitchell. Mr. Casimo retired as senior accountant of Kraft Dairy Group after 25 years of service. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW.
The service to celebrate the life of Fred Junior Casimo will be held 3:30 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Newman, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM Saturday at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Kathleen Sluss Casimo; a son, Fred "Tony" Casimo of Charlotte; a sister, Kathleen Nolley of Richlands, VA; and two granddaughters, Noelle Casimo and Madison Casimo.
Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.

Aunt Kathleen,Tony,Noelle, Madison, & Mother know that all of you are in my prayers.Uncle Fred will be missed so much. He was a man of great wisdom & a giant heart. I have so many happy memories of Uncle Fred. I loved him very much. He is forever in our hearts. Love you all. Pam

Mr. Fred was always a joy to talk to each time he came into the ALDI store. I especially enjoyed our talks about coin collecting. He and and his wife were so kind and humble to me. May God be with the entire family during this time. Sincerely, Greg Lewis
