Obituary

Freddie (Fred) Allen Freeman departed from this life on July 3, 2014 at the age of 75. Funeral services for Fred will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. He was born on August 16, 1938 to Oscar and Allene Nuckolls Freeman in the Talleytown community of Chester County. Fred graduated from Chester County High School in 1958. After completing high school, Fred enlisted in the United States Navy Reserves. His love for cars began at the age of 16 when he started driving cars for Junior Guinn....

He was born on August 16, 1938 to Oscar and Allene Nuckolls Freeman in the Talleytown community of Chester County.
Fred graduated from Chester County High School in 1958. After completing high school, Fred enlisted in the United States Navy Reserves. His love for cars began at the age of 16 when he started driving cars for Junior Guinn. In 1961, Fred and his father opened Freeman Motors in Jackson, TN and remained in business until his death. Fred was an avid supporter of South Side High School athletics.
He was united in marriage to Judy Delaney on February 7, 1975. They were married for 39 years.
Fred is survived by his wife, Judy Freeman; son Wesley Freeman (Susanne Watson); and two grandsons, Harrison Allen and Houston Bennett Freeman; sisters, Mary Lou Stockton of Memphis and Nadine Carroll (Jerry) of Henderson; a brother in law, Tommy Delaney (Billie) of Saltillo; four nieces, Ginny Mount (Mike) of Collierville, Janet Carroll of Henderson, TN, Pam Rhinehart Meek of Dickson, TN and Mandy Delaney Haley of Saltillo, TN; and one nephew, Josh Delaney of Baghdad, Iraq.
Fred is preceded in death by a grandson, Hank Watson Freeman; his parents, Oscar and Allene Freeman; grandparents, Charlie and Mary Jane Freeman and Allen Nuckolls and Lula Nuckolls Talley, and brother in law, Frank Stockton.
Active pallbearers to serve will be Jerry Neal Thompson, Jerry Freeman, George White, Gerald Parish, Bob Redding, and Tommy Graves.
Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Junior Guinn and Richard Drewry, Sr.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the SOS Fund at Malesus United Methodist Church, 448 Old Malesus Rd., Jackson, TN 38301 or Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN, 37212.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday evening, July 5, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
