Obituary Notice
Freda M. Bavin, 91, of Union City, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born March 6, 1922 in Kalkaska, MI to Frank C. and Julia I. (Drake) Motz.
Freda is survived by a son; Larry (Nell) Kleehammer, daughter; Rose Marie Hoffman, son; Steven (Carol) Bavin, daughter; Carol Ann Forslund, daughter; Joyce (Joe) Fierke, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; Ora Bavin, her parents, a son; Cleo Kleehammer, infant brother; Cleo Motz, a brother; Gary Motz and a son-in-law; Raymond A. Hoffman III.
Freda was a good mother, wife and grandmother. She was a good cook and enjoyed camping, traveling, family reunions and get togethers. Freda believed in education. She loved cats, her entire family, and sacrificed for the benefit of her children. She was a beautician and also worked at the Dime Store in Union City. During WWII she was a 'Rosie Riveter' at the Willow Run Bomb Factory.
Funeral services will be held on May 10, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. with two hours of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City with Pastor Karen Nachtigall of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. You may leave an online tribute by visiting www.putnamfuneralhome.com

I will always remember Freda smiling and simply content. She was a loving woman and she will be greatly missed. My condolences to Joyce and Joe.

We are so sorry to hear of Fredas passing. I have such wonderful memories of her & Ora. I will never forget at our wedding she leaned over to me and said " I hope you will be as happy as Ora & I have been". Such a sweet and thoughtful lady.
