Mayan Dude Ranch
Dear Jason
I am so sorry to hear about your father. Our love and prayers are with you & your family at this time.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful e-mail. I have forwarded your message on to my mother, Judy, who just recently retired. She and my dad began back in 1953 so I am sure that they were running the ranch when your dad brought you to the ranch. How cool is that, that your dad met his wife here at the ranch. That's definitely material for a dude ranch novel.
Love and prayers from all at the Mayan,
Kelly Orion

Giving thanks to God for the new life Fred has received through Christ, we pray:
Almighty God, those who die in the Lord still live with you in joy and blessedness. We give you heartfelt thanks for the grace you have bestowed upon your servants who have finished their course in faith and now rest from their labors, especially Fred. May we with all who have died in the true faith, have perfect fulfillment and joy in your eternal and everlasting glory. All this we pray through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
God's Peace!

In the short time we knew Fred, we knew him to be a kind man with a big heart. His love for nature, animals, and, most of all, his family was evident in the care he gave to all. We are privileged to have had him as a neighbor for the past year, and our hearts go out to his loved ones.

I will miss Green Market Fred. You could count on him walking through the market with his tote bag to be filled with muffins for the grandmuffins. Plants from his garden border my patio. There is one in particular that I love and it has a red flower. It is planted near my gate. So everytime I go out or in, I say Hi Fred." As the priest said love is stronger than death. And so it is that those who loved him will always keep him alive in our hearts,

As an engineer' newbie at P&W in 1965,Fred and his Buffalo Lodge pals invited me to join their most exclusive ski club housed in a converted VT school house. What lessons I was taught and memories I cherish! Fred embodied the true spirit of our fun-loving and tight-knit gang. His humor, caring and kindness gave our group an 'all for one' and 'one for all' identity in the many good times we all shared, including Leaf Peeping weekend (otherwise named); 8th grade picnics, Lake George invasions and of course, skiing.
Rest in peace Fred, you were our first-chair fiddler!

Fred was one of a kind. His words of wisdom, sayings, and outlook of life will always be with me. I will always cherish the time that I had with Fred. He was a second father to me.

I remember Fred as a handsome young man with a great sense of humor, caring and even a pretty good skier. We shared a lot of fun weekends at the Buffalo Lodge. Sounds like he continued his joy in living throughout his life. He will be missed. My heartfelt sympathy to your family. "Kelly Benda" Willimann

I worked for Fred when I first started at PW in 1979. He was a wonderful guy with a common sense attitude. I left PW in 1984 to work for a competitor and quickly realized it was not a good choice. Fred was person who went to bat for me and convinced others at PW to hire me back. I'll forever be in his debt. Sad to hear he is no longer with us. My condolences to the family.

Fred was a regular at our booth at the PBG Green Market...We quickly became friends and he would always stop by even just to say hello. He showed us all his pictures from his Australia trip and loved everything about it except the long plane ride! He was such a kind and good man. We saw him St Patricks day and he had on his shirt and hat celebrating the day! He will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure to know him. "When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure". Sending our sincere condolences to your family....
