Frederick Paul Ambs was born on December 19, 1960 in Jackson, MI. Fred was a good kid; he excelled in sports and most everything he did. Fred started school in Morenci at age 6. He learned to play piano and had a paper route. He was very well loved by his teachers and his peers. He got started in little league baseball when he was 8 and developed a great love for this sport. Fred graduated from Blissfield Highschool in 1979. He played American Legion baseball and received a full scholarship to the University of Missouri. Since then he has gotten many more degrees in the insurance industry. He was always very attentive to his parents and very close to his siblings.
Fred was joined in marriage to Stacy in 1994 for 20 years, and was a proud, loving and devoted father of Jordan Drew, 17, and Morgan Paige, 14.
He moved to Dallas in 2006 after his tenure as VP of claims at AIG in West Virginia and New York. After leaving AIG he enjoyed leading catastrophe relief teams in various states, followed by his current position of Amica Insurance in Dallas as a General Adjuster. Fred will be fondly remembered by his many friends and family for his love of golf, fishing, crossword puzzles, bowling, and attending his children's' sporting events. Fred, you will be greatly missed by all those you touched. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Fred is survived by his parents, Peter and Mary Ambs and Janet Barbrick; ex-wife Stacy Ambs and their children Jordan and Morgan; sister Suzanne and Wesley Exelby; brother Peter Ambs; brother Lowell Weaver and family; niece Alyse Exelby; niece Erica Paige Ambs; and nephew Peter and Jaime Ambs.

Very sad to hear about Fred's passing. He was my mentor at Amica and always had such positivity in all aspects of life. I remember watching Jeopardy with him one night and he was shouting out answers before the contestants did. Truly a remarkable man and I'll miss having my talks with him.

Very sad and somber news hearing of Fred's passing. Met Fred when we were 8 yrs old. He was always kind, considerate and had a great smile. Amazing athlete and a giving person. Everyone had great respect for Fred. His passing at such a young age makes us all give pause to the things most precious to us, our friends and family whom we all too often take for granted. Wonderful memories we will keep, even now with heavy hearts. Rest in peace Fred!

I was friends of Freds parents, even before he was born. Remember him as a sweet kid. Later ran into him as he and my sons played ball during their teenage years. He was an excellent ballplayer. I am very sorry that he left so soon.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Fred's passing. Fred and I were childhood friends growing up in Morenci, Michigan. We were always together. We would camp out in my back yard and at night look up at the stars while talking about life and sports...mostly sports. Our Little League days were the best. We pushed each other to become better athletes. He was a great athlete, great student and most of all a great friend. It has been 40 years and I still remember him like it was yesterday. I was sad to see him move to Blissfield but I knew it was best for him. My deepest condolences to the Ambs family. When I look up at the stars tonight I will be thinking of Fred.

So sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I never played with Fred since I was just going off to college when he was "the new kid in town", but our whole families did become friends back in the day in Blissfield. His sister Suzy is still a good friend. I wish Fred's entire family strength in the coming days and fond memories in the future.

Having a difficult time putting into words what a special guy your dad was. He was a highly respected, knowledgeable adjuster, very well thought of. The professional excellence tells only part of his story, though. He was friendly, patient with questions, and simply a very nice guy to work with. Be proud to be his kids. He spoke highly of both of you, his love obvious.
With prayers and best wishes, comfort and peace.
