Dear Valerie and family, just today I was catching up on my past news per readings, specifically the obituaries - in that I grew up in the north end of PB Co most of my childhood and all of my adult life. Today I was very saddened to see Chuck's obituary! I was so upset with myself for not knowing about Chuck's passing until just today; otherwise I most definitely would have been at his service and would loved to have passed my condolences on to you, Valerie and to his children, etc...! Valerie, I think you will remember me. Chuck and I worked together at the Winn Dixie on 49th Street and Broadway, where close life-long bonds were formed with so many... Co-workers and customers alike. Chuck was always so likable, friendly and "just a great guy." I think the last time I saw you both, was at the Winn Dixie Reunion I organized at the Jupiter Crab House in Jupiter, probably at least seven years ago; I am quite sure you and Chuck attended! Anyway at that reunion, or at another time I saw you two together, I learned of a wonderful thing you two did for my niece, Brandy, when she was a little gir. Brandy and her mother, step-father, sister and brothers lived next door to them. Once you connected that Brandy was the "little girl next door" you both told me of times where you would give Brandy some extra needed attention and possibly some food or snacks. The story you told me about what you and Chuck recognized and did for Brandy touched my heart. Sadly, my niece - Brandy, passed away unexpectedly about a year and a half ago. During that time of grief, I thought about the kindness you bestowed upon Brandy when she was a little girl - maybe three or four years old. I am forever indebted to both you and Chuck! I am so sorry for his loss! Maybe, just maybe, he will run into her in Heaven and keep a watchful eye on her there too! My cell phone is 561-662-4983, if you are up to calling and would like to chat. In Saddness, I pass on my heartfelt sympathy over your loss of a good family man and a dear friend of mine! Respectfully, Laurie Van Deusen

Our dearest friends
Your unexpected loss and grief is share by many people today! Fred has taught me many things, Trust in the Lord, laughter, family is most important, never talk bad about anybody to anybody, be kind, find the humor in any situation, be gentle when needed, be strong when needed show your love for others! My list can go on and on! When I fell ill my first thought was to call Fred and Val, the thought that they will pray for me brought me great comfort . As our heart breaks today our soul is comforted with the knowledge that sweet Fred is with sweet Jesus who he loved above all else!
Valerie and family our love and hearts are with you at this time of sorrow and always!

I have known Chuck and Val since the early 1970's. Val and I met in high school and we met Chuck shortly there after. Val was in our wedding and we all had many great times together in the early days. I'll never forget all the days spent at there property when they were building there home in RPB and watching the kids play in the sand with the Tonka trucks. Chuck always had a smile and a welcoming hug. He will be missed. Love to the family Mike and Patty Senecal

I met Fred way back in the 80's when he was a client of McGinnes Laboratories. Always a happy-go-lucky attitude, very refreshing! We reconnected once he was elected FSEA President and he hadn't changed a bit. Just an all around pleasant guy. I'm saying many prayers for his family. Godspeed, Fred!

Jack and I were so saddened to hear that Fred had passed. Fred was such a sweet man - always so nice to us and welcoming and always giving me a big hug. The last time we saw Fred was at FSEA in Ft. Lauderdale, and we laughed so hard from all the funny stories that we had tears rolling down our faces and stitches in our sides. Now the tears have returned but from sadness. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Fred's beloved Valerie and family for their loss. We will truly miss him.

Ever the consummate professional, my last memory of Fred will be of his attendance to the Region 3 microbiology workshop presented by the FSEA and how he interacted with all the attendees, ever so interested in their professional and personal stories, making sure all the needs and expectations were met. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

Chuck will always be in my mind as a friend to all, a genuinely nice guy. I feel fortunate to have been in touch with him in the last 5 weeks after not seeing him for many many years. He had not changed a bit, still the good friend I knew since our school days. RIP my friend. Rick Nelson
