Funeral services for Frederick H. Bremer, age 88 of Ogdensburg will be held 11:00am on Thursday (Jan 23, 2014) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Deacon Francis Bateman officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Ogdensburg Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Mr. Bremer passed away at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center on Thursday (Jan 16, 2014) with his son by his side. Funeral services for Frederick H. Bremer, age 88 of Ogdensburg will be held 11:00am on Thursday (Jan 23, 2014) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Deacon Francis Bateman officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Ogdensburg Cemetery.
There will be no public calling hours. Mr. Bremer passed away at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center on Thursday (Jan 16, 2014) with his son by his side.

Surviving is his son Alfred of Ogdensburg; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins from Canada.

His wife Joyce and a brother Alvin Bremer predeceased him.

Fred was born on November 28, 1925 in Manhattan, NY a son of the late Frederick & Anna (Dora) Bremer. He graduated from Manhattan High School and then entered the US Army from 1945 until 1948. He married Joyce C. McCullum on Feb 6, 1954 in Nanuet, NY where the couple owned and operated a farm. He later moved to Westwood, NY and worked as a Theatre Hand for 30 years prior to moving to Ogdensburg. He also worked as an apprentice for TPU and retired in 1987.

He was a past member of the Nanuet Volunteer Fire Department and the local US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also was the boat safety course instructor for many years and enjoyed flower gardening, maintenance work, house construction and researching the history of Ogdensburg.
