Obituary

Frederick "Fred" John Gall was born on January 31, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to parents Frederick and Anne (Woitkielevicz) Gall. Fred grew up in Chicago and started working for Sears & Roebuck in 1948 until he was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951. After his discharge from the U.S. Army in 1953 with the rank of Sergeant, he returned to work for Sears & Roebuck. On October 17, 1953, he was united in marriage to Winifred "Winnie" Chanoux in Chicago, Illinois, whom he had known since the 5th grade. After 24 years with Sears & Roebuck, the couple left Chicago and moved to Cable where they purchased the Virginia Beach...
Frederick "Fred" John Gall was born on January 31, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to parents Frederick and Anne (Woitkielevicz) Gall. Fred grew up in Chicago and started working for Sears & Roebuck in 1948 until he was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951. After his discharge from the U.S. Army in 1953 with the rank of Sergeant, he returned to work for Sears & Roebuck. On October 17, 1953, he was united in marriage to Winifred "Winnie" Chanoux in Chicago, Illinois, whom he had known since the 5th grade. After 24 years with Sears & Roebuck, the couple left Chicago and moved to Cable where they purchased the Virginia Beach Resort on Lake Owen which they ran until 1980. Fred enjoyed golf, fishing, and playing cards. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Cable, the Cable Lions Club, American Legion Post #487 in Cable, the Cable Chamber of Commerce, and was instrumental in the creation of the Bayfield County Recreation Association.

Fred is survived by his wife Winnie of Cable, children: Gerilyn Clark of Superior, WI, Janet (Thomas) Sontag of Glenview, IL, Steven (Ellen) Gall of Tacoma, WA, Gregory (Margaret) Gall of St. Charles, MN, Martin (Leigh) Gall of Hayward, WI, 11 grandchildren, brother Glenn (Kathleen) Gall of Bloomingdale, IL, sister Marlene (Marion) Dobosz of IL, and niece Jacquelyn (Jeff) Rostomily.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, son Kenneth in August of 1972, and brother Richard Gall.
