While student at UM, I went to see him for some breathing difficulty,he found a deviated septum. He did it twice as first time left some kind of wheezing when breathing from nose.It was not a total success but medicine is not an exact science. As a person, he was a busy professional but kind and nice.Sincere condolences.

How do you describe a giant? You were that and much more. The memories I have of you as a Doctor,as well as a co-worker,are numerous.I remember that you were never too Above us as nurses aides to sit with us over coffee,or dinner, and how we loved having you there.I remember after I left Doctors that if I had a sore throat,I could always call the switchboard and ask Is Dr Meadows light on? I could leave a message, and in minutes I received a return call.I remember your prescriptions along with Dr Camp for your T&As.I remember too working when you received the news of your own personal tragedy, and in your grief, you never wore your heart on your sleeve. One of my fondest memories of you is when we were having our annual Christmas Party, and I couldn't find a dress. You asked me every day if I found one,and were so relieved when I did.You said Now I can sleep at night. The world has been relieved of a very special man,Never to be replaced. You will always be Freddy Meadows to me,and Oh so special.Rest well.Betty Reynolds Barnes.Miami Lakes

Dr. Meadows came to me as a patient only months after my grandfather passed away. The two of them shared many similarities: in physical appearance, intelligence, love of family, God, and country. We are so quickly losing an entire generation that sacrificed greatly to make this country what it is. It was my great pleasure to work with him a few times a week for an hour. His stories and advice were always encouraging to me and other patients. I viewed others comments on this site with joy and sadness. I hope that I was some aid to him. I know he was to me and many others as a Dr and as an example to other healthcare providers.

I first remember Dr. Meadows when he took out my tonsils (I sometimes say he took out half of the tonsils in Miami). Then I was fortunate to meet him at my church, Granada Presbyterian, and learn his strong Christian beliefs. Lastly, I was able to work with him as a nurse at Miami Children's Hospital. To Babbie, Debbie and Rick- thank you for sharing such a special person with us all. I am sorry I was unable to attend the services and hope you received my hugs from Beth.

I went to Dr. Meadows as a kid for my persistently blocked eustachian tubes and he always made me feel comfortable in the office...a good role model for a future doctor!
My condolences to the entire Meadows family, and especially to Rick, a former classmate from long ago!

Dr. Meadows was one of the most kind gentle-spirited men I had ever known. As competitive swimmers when children, he would always meet us at his office, after hours because of our schedules, to tend to infected ears...I never remember "pain" when he worked on me! His spirit was so sweet, his love of our Lord so passionate, his devotion to his family such a wonderful example. He will be so missed here...but so glad he WAS here and I had the privilege of knowing him and his family! Prayers and blessings to you, Babbie, Debbie, Rick and families...

Dear Babbie and Family,

We became friends and neighbors in Coral Gables, raised our children together for more than sixty years, shared and served in the same churches together and we still stick together in our senior years. Phl. 1:3-6

Memories of Dr. Meadows make me smile...4-wheeling on the UM campus, giant jars of collard greens in the pantry, complimenting Babbie on a wardrobe purchased by a discerning husband, the privilege of knowing one of the sweetest men God ever placed on this earth, someone who allowed Christ to use him to bless so many...Dr. Meadows - husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, separated from us only briefly...so much for us to look forward to that he is now enjoying.

There are no words in this world to describe the generosity and caring that Dr. Meadows gave to all his patients. He was a devoted doctor that treated patients with the highest degree of humanity. As the office secretary for many years, we shared lunch, Christmas parties, songs, many stories and fun times with the family and friends that will always live in my heart. I know that he is in a better place today because he is an angel that is watching over those that love him. My prayers are with the family. May God give you strength to carry on in his memory.
