GORDON CORRELL Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 18, 2013.

GORDON KEITH CORRELL
"Absent from the body
Present with the LORD"

Gordon was born in Apple Valley, Parma, Idaho on Nov 3, 1920; he was the son of Jim & Nellie Correll.
He graduated from Parma High School and later enlisted in the Coast Guard during WWII. He participated in the Aleutian Campaign as well as operating a landing barge off Tarawa and other areas, serving on the USS "Arthur Middleton."
He worked on fire boats in Tacoma prior to moving to Arlington. He was employed in the Fire Department US Naval Radio Station (T) Jim Creek for 30 years. There he met his wife Jean – a happy marriage of 58 years.
Gordon was active at Bethel Baptist Church serving in many capacities in his love for our Lord.
He endured Parkinson's disease with difficult side effects until June 17, spending the last days at Marysville Care Center, a truly caring facility.
Thanks to Dr. Andreoni and Dr. Wilhelm, Pastors Wes Johnson and Jake Krestinski, and for caring neighbors and relatives.

Gordy was my neighbor, he loved working in the yard and was so interesting to talk to. God is now taking care of him.

I met Mr. Correll when I was stationed at Jim Creek Naval Base, '64-'65. What a nice, gentle man, he was. The type you don't forget. I believe he also drove a very nicely kept vehicle. Rest in peace, my friend.
