CANNON, Garda
February 25, 1925 - March 25, 2012
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Garda Cannon after a brief and unexpected illness at the Juravinski Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of William "Roy" Cannon for 68 years. Loving and supportive mother to Judy and David (Bette). The "Best Nanny Ever" to Amy (Raj) and Laura (Michael). A special Gi Gi to her beloved great-grandsons Arjen and William. Garda was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her smile, thoughtfulness, laughter and kindness, she will be greatly missed by her loving family and her friends. An amazing woman, Garda, lived life to the fullest and made annual vacations to Westport and Florida fun and memorable. She loved to host family celebrations and we all have many cherished memories of these incredible times together. Garda was a lifetime member of Mount Hamilton United Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir for many years. She was looking forward to reuniting with her friends at St. Andrew's United Church. Garda selflessly gave to everyone who knew her and we are so very fortunate to have had her in our lives. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Garda will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Cresmount Funeral Home, Upper James Chapel, 1020 Upper James Street, Hamilton. Please join the family for a reception following the service.
"What we once enjoyed,
we can never lose.
All that we love deeply
becomes a part of us"
