Hyannis - Gary A. Macdonald, 59, of Hyannis, comforted by his loving family as he was embraced by God on May 18, 2017, after his long 8 year crusade with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Gary's strong and courageous will to live has been an inspiration to those who know and love him.
A graduate of Shrewsbury High, Quinsigamond College, he studied martial arts and was a certified auto mechanic, Gary also proudly served twenty-five years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal service in Westboro and Hyannis.
"My family is always my priority. I love Life and living on Cape Cod. Traveling with my wife makes our life complete, along with my passion of muscle cars."
Gary leaves his most loving and devoted wife Diane, of 30 years. Daughters Dina Nobile and Lauren Paciello, his father Al Macdonald, grandchildren Kyle and Amani Gerardi, and sisters Kim Bollus and Deborah Macdonald. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Alexa Gerardi and his mother Grace Macdonald.
Our heartfelt gratitude and tremendous thank you, we express to Dr. David C. Fisher of the Dana Farber Cancer Instsitute, Dr. Henry P. Tufts, Dr. Chester H. Mohr and Dr. David Lovett of Hyannis for their effortless, exemplary dedication in Gary's medical care through his most challenging journey. The skill and compassion of all nursing staff brought much comfort in Gary's care, thank you all.
"Let faith be stronger than your fear". We lost the most amazing, wonderful man and a beautiful soul. How truly blessed are we to have had Gary in our lives. We love you Gary-God bless you.
There will be a private celebration of Gary's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gary's memory to a charity of your choice.
