Gary Vincent Bonesio passed away May 25, 2013, at his home in Richfield, California surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Verna and father Victor Bonesio. He is survived by his mother Helen Bonesio of Richfield, brother Larry Bonesio (Jacque) of Magalia, son Steve Bonesio (Betty Jo) of Orland, daughter Debra Richards (Michael) of Gilroy, son Jason Bonesio (Davena) of Orland, son Jeremy Bonesio (Anne) of Orland, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Gary was born to Victor and Helen Bonesio on June 18, 1937, in Gilroy, California. He was raised and worked on the family ranch before going to work for IBM where he met his wife Verna. In 1974 he and Verna bought a ranch in Capay, where he pursued his dream of growing wine grapes and kiwis. He eventually opened his own auto/farm equipment repair shop on his ranch. He later worked for A. Volpato Inc. in Chico before retiring in 1999. Following his retirement, Gary returned to his family roots growing grapes and making wine with his sons. He was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council for several years. He enjoyed many hobbies including, hunting, fishing, target shooting, reloading, reading westerns and of course making wine. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
