I am so sorry for your loss Gord. We never met, but I knew Gary for many years. We first met when he was a dorm monitor at an arts summer school in Fort Qu'Appelle in the summer of 1976. I was a dancer and the company I was with was the guest company at the school. We made friends and the next thing I knew, he had moved to Montreal! We remained close friends until his move to Toronto, after which we fell out of touch. I remember dancing with him like no one was watching at dances at McGill University, where he studied music, and spending many the evening together watching late-night TV and munching on popcorn. He had style and a great eye for interior design. He was also a loving friend. I will miss him.

My heart goes out to all the Bourassa family and of course, Gordon, at this saddest of times. I have fond memories our two families spending many fun times together when we were very young, living on Grundeen Crescent in Estevan, SK. I pray that memories of your kind, gentle and talented brother and husband help to lighten the intense sorrow you must be feeling at his passing. God bless all of you!

My heartfelt condolences to all the family on their loss of Gary. I was a childhood friend of the family and was very saddened to hear of Gary's passing. Although I lost touch with most of the Bourassa family especially when his sister Dale and later Gary moved on to University, I have fond memories of the times our families spent together on Grundeen Crescent in Estevan! Gary was a bright, kind and gentle soul, easy to be with, and from what I understand, stayed that way all his adult life. My deepest sympathy to his husband and siblings at this very sad time.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear husband and brother. I lived next door to Gary in Estevan. I have fond memories of him helping in our attempts to build a clubhouse.

Gord - I knew Gary all through high school as a member of the ECS stage and marching bands and as a central member in my circle of friends. I remember many evenings playing Risk or Monopoly on my parent's living room floor or at his folk's house on Mayfair Bay. Although Gary and I lost contact in later life, he remained close to my siblings and especially to my Mom and often visited when he was in town to see his folks. We caught up again when he came back to Estevan for my Mom's funeral. It was like he had never left. He was a kind and sensitive man and I enjoyed his company. I am so sorry for your loss.

My eyes already touch the sunny hill.
going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
it has inner light, even from a distance-
and charges us, even if we do not reach it,
into something else, which, hardly sensing it,
we already are; a gesture waves us on
answering our own wave...
but what we feel is the wind in our faces.
