My sympathy to Bobbi and the entire Carless family. I will always remember Gary's wonderful sense of humor and his never ending appetite. Gary always had a kind word and smile for everyone. I will treasure my memories of the boating vacation that we all had to Georgian Bay and feel so blessed I could be a part of that small moment in time. RIP Gary.

Gary always had a smile or a laugh for everyone he greeted. I think even traffic violators left not just with a citation but with a curious impression that doggoneit -that guy really was nice.

Gary and I first became friends in junior high school in 1951, graduated together from Grossse Pointe (South) in 1955 and have stayed in contact over the 62 years in between. Our greatest adventure was our 4 week, 6,000+ mile trip around N. America the summer of 1957, along with our friend, Bob Schofield. Hundreds of stories involving Gary highlight those formative years, with humor, with dignity and always with respect and friendship. Gary, my friend, you will be sorely missed. You were indeed 'one of the best of the best'.
